Evening report

It’s very late but it’s been quite a productive day. I finally pulled the trigger on the biggest part of the move back to the summer office. It’s functional out there and both screens are busy trying to put together our issue of the utopian.

It’s pretty close to where we crashed on Tuesday. I managed to recover a lot of the original writing although afterwards, I wondered why I didn’t just rewrite everything. It seems to have a slightly different look to it right now but as of the moment, I think I’m as good as I can get on A3 paper. Also, there’s a lot of material that’s already written.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the stuff for my all-nighter last night and though I did put up a good fight for doing things today, I didn’t sit there and Hammer out the journal. Perhaps I should have but I did other things.

Possibly the best part of the day was when I finally got around to watering. I pretty much do the sprinklers every day when there is no rain. Perhaps I’m overdoing it but I’m getting life in the boxes. The beans are alive and starting to come. I thought of even writing a post about that but I thought people would not understand the joy I felt when I saw beans popping up in one of my boxes. It was a box that had been mulched with Forest material and it’s good to know that it’s a good growing medium.

The mosquitoes are absolutely miserable right now but I did find a remarkable way to fight them. Moving the computer meant dragging out the vacuum and there’s quite a bit of dust after a half a year of accumulation. However, when that vacuum is running, if you come anywhere near a mosquito he’s getting sucked into the vortex. I don’t know how many I have vacuumed out of the sky but I’m glad I discovered this weapon.

There was one more thing that I noticed today. A lot of the water plants that I started growing during the winter ended up on my window in the springtime. The salads absolutely loved my kitchen window and everybody grew there. But today I noticed something very clearly. The plants that were growing in glass containers, no matter the size, we’re clearly outperforming the plants that were grown in recycled plastic pots. Either it was something in the pots or perhaps something else, but the plants that were inside glass containers we’re all very beautiful and proud but those in the plastic pots all looked very sad. It’s a point where they of being remembered.

Basically, this week has been a bit of a debacle. The swarms of mosquitoes that have been hanging around this week have not made anything better. It’s a byproduct of living here and I can only hope that I’m not particularly guilty of watering my field so much and therefore inspiring all of this mosquito growth. I am not going to say that global warming is a good thing just because we have less mosquitoes.

Anyway, I am basically calling it a day at about 10:00 p.m. . Tomorrow we have some Torah study and of course I will take as big a shot as I can at getting as close to the end of the newspaper as possible. A week ago I was feeling pretty smart for having things under control by Thursday. I don’t have this luxury this week. However, I did take some good steps towards getting things put together generally on the internet. I don’t know if I’m really going to be happy throwing blogs up. On the other side of the coin, why not? Honestly, why not? I don’t really think I’m hurting anybody with anything I’m doing.
